Aletheia Norfolk finds its roots in the passions and dreams of Dave and Aaron Proffitt. In 2001, the Proffitts began a church at JMU in Harrisonburg, VA to reach a generation with the message of Christ.  God blessed their efforts tremendously and the vision continued with Aletheia Richmond in 2006. Under Dave's leadership, a small group of recent college graduates began reaching out to the campus of VCU.  In 2007, Dave handed the reigns over to Josh Soto as Aletheia Richmond began to meet on Sunday nights. In July of 2008, Jamie and Jessica Limato came to Norfolk to see the same things take place in the city of Norfolk and the campus of Old Dominion.  The Aletheia network has blossomed into a nationwide college church-planting movement with awesome momentum behind it.

The Aletheia ODU campus organization has been started to better reach the students of Old Dominion. Aletheia Norfolk is growing into a new, relevant community that is here to see people who are far from God come to new life in Christ and become true disciples of Him. We want to do this by encountering God in deep and powerful ways, serving one another, and reaching out with the message of Christ.
